Salt FRS-15 Build “Kestrel”
Starting my build of the Salt Boatworks FRS15, which I’m naming Kestrel (small bird of prey, sounded fitting!)
15’ long, 6 and a half inch draft. 5’4” beam, 700lb capacity. Going to use a 30hp tiller, center grab bar with cooler rack. Casting and poling platform. Otherwise keeping it simple for solo trips and the ability to keep it in the garage.

Florida beaches covered in sea weed
Hey all, I just saw a news broadcast about the beaches being covered in sea weed. My question is, is there some alarming or non-alarming reason that all of this sea weed is being ripped from the sea floor in the first place? The report seemed to only be worried about how it might negatively affect tourism.

Dolphin Renegade rebuild
Bought a 2001 Dolphin Renegade project hull a few weeks ago, under the impression it just needed some cosmetic work (deck/cockpit gelcoat, etc). To make a rather long story short, I found out the next day after doing some sanding that it needed a lot more than cosmetics (I have a separate thread on here where I go into details about that, if you care to search it).
I found out the stringers were compromised and the hull had actually developed hairline stress cracks all the way through...

Skiff Camping Tent?
I’m looking for a well-made tent for skiff camping ENP(chickees and beach), 10K Islands, FL Keys, etc.
Those of you that have done this.....can you recommend a quality tent. I don’t mind spending the cheese for quality. As you know the tent must have the following qualities:
- no-see-um mesh on windows and doors
- ventilation
- waterproof/weatherproof
- relatively lightweight and compact
....and most importantly...
- must stand up to strong winds

I was not planning on posting a build thread because I felt I had no real value or knowledge to contribute BUT I quickly realized that I could help future builders out by sharing my dumb mistakes. First lesson learned: A router with a circular bitt can not cut a 90 deg corner.![:)]( "Smile :)")

Lagoon Skiff Tail Chaser Pro complete build. Picture heavy thread!

I wanted to share the build I ordered from Lagoon Skiffs. The album I shared has photos of the entire build process of the boat. I ordered the Tail Chaser Pro model that came with a molded deck and many options. I've since had her on the water and she rides great through some chop, poles easily, and floats shallow. After some short wide open throttle burst with the 25hp motor it reached 30mph with just me and 27 with two people on gps. Skiff measures 14'10" with a 61"...

Time to move into something different although I really hate to.
Skiff has always been well maintained and drafts in a puddle with 2 people and gear.
Hull is in excellent shape.
- Motor has about 20hrs on it (4 years remaining on transferrable warranty)
- Bilge pump
- 350cca battery
- Tiller extension
- Brand new west marine 10 gallon tank
- nauticus smart tabs
- grab bar with center console box(currently unattached)

Winter/Spring Time Camping & Fishing
Hello All,
I wanted to flip something that I would like to do this winter/spring time (when the weather is cooler). I'd like to find a campground at a park that has some basic amenities and a boat ramp. The plan would be to camp out in a tent for a few days out of the week or weekend and fish, sight see and take in a new area and maybe get a group together. I would like to do this one or two times a year, if I'm solo, and even make my way up to Georgia one year.

I haven't really kept up with all the boats currently being produced, but looking for some possible suggestions.
I am looking for a smaller boat. Nothing real fancy or elaborate.
My first thought is a 16 x 52-60inch Jon, but by the time I add power, trolling motor, and have a front deck, built up I am probably in the small skiff price range so just want to do my due diligence.
I am not looking to pole or be super stealthy. Just run a bow mounted trolling motor.
Main thing is stability,...

Since the thread "What's everyone catching?" is all the way over on the Fishing Reports forum, I thought it would be convenient for us fly fishermen/fisherpersons to have a running thread here on the Fly Fishing Forum on fish caught on fly only to see what everyone is catching lately.
Note: Ideal pic size for fast internet opening, especially on cell phones is 800-1024 dpi length. A little bigger wouldn't hurt tho. So resize them when possible.

Center console layup schedule
I'm building a CC for my riverhawk and was wondering what a good layup would be. Supplies on hand 6oz and 1700 biax w epoxy, not enough core left to piece together so was thinking solid glass. My idea was out>in 6oz/2mm coremat/1700, would this work? Any help appreciated guys!
