My girlfriend has a 10 year old son who loves the outdoors & is getting into sight fishing with me. I wasn't taught much about fishing as a kid so I don't have that knowledge to fall back on. What would be the best conventional rod/reel combo for him to sight fish blacks & reds on a spoon or similar lures? He has a spinning rig his "paw paw" bought him but it's too damn big for him to use effectively. Thanks in advance

I am putting my 2001 Hells Bay 16/Waterman with all original 25 Mercury and Ramlin galvanized trailer up For Sale! Purchased this boat sight unseen last March and some $3500.00 -4000.00 later she is back to good as new. In other words I am taking the mystery out of this boat since everything is fixed properly except for a total fiberglass redo at HB or Glasser. The hull is in great shape with recent fiberglass work done by Harry Spear in Panacea FL to fix a few gel coat cracks. I told Harry...

Hey guys, just signed up after buying my first boat. I've been browsing here for a while as I was looking for a starter boat/mini project.

I'm not looking to do a total overhaul, I don't have the skills yet. But I am wanting to plan out some modifications on this boat to help me learn some new skills.

Thinking about building a casting deck from the front bench seat to the bow and maybe build a back casting deck and enclose the fuel tank and rear battery.

Selling the "Fish Slayer," I just don't use it much. It hasn't been in the water and I haven't fished since October. Always flushed and trailer soaked in East Lake Toho across the street and hand washed with a sponge after every trip. I spend most of my time skydiving and motorcycle riding. The boat has always been stored in the garage since new. Not interested in parting it out, selling turn key as is.

My youngest son just got accepted to Tufts University and is trying to make some pocket money for school next year.

He designed a cool sticker and adapted them for micro skiff users. High quality, UV stable and perfect for coolers, stripping buckets etc. Sticker measures 3.5" x 4.5" and is die cut to match label shape. Red with white background. Once he gets enough orders he will have the stickers printed (25 minimum).
