So I have my short shaft E-tec 30 mounted on my Glades X tunnel now. The Atlas microjacker is great, but I cant' lower it the final inch without the thumb screws hitting the jack plate. I need about another 1/2" clearance.

As if I needed more to work on and keep me from progressing as fast on the skiff I am building, I bought a project boat today. It's a 14' 1969 Seal Craft. The beam is 61". Good solid little boat that I would like to spruce up and modify somewhat. Sorry for the bad pics, it was dark when I got home with it this afternoon. I have a trip planned next week to the Texas coast. Usually I would be flyfishing, but my friend has never cast a fly rod before. We plan on poling the flats and sightcasting to reds with conventional gear.

I had my mind on the humminbird helix 7, but just came across the simrad go7. Looks like I can get Florida marine tracks with the go7 and not the helix. Does anyone have the simrad? Wanting a quick review on how it is. Does the depth finder work in skinny waters (my current garmin freaks out and stalls if i get skinny and takes forever to catch back up)? How is the chart plotting (again my older garmin isn't great for following tracks at all). And what is the difference between the HDI...

I'm looking for a setup for tarpon that i could rig up under 600$ thats rod and reel both. I've been looking at the TFO BVK 10 wt and possibly rig it up with an allen reel but im not sure so i've come to you guys for some advice. Any help i would greatly appreciate, thanks!

Picked up my Glades X tunnel

Made the trip from Texas to Panacea to pick up my Glades X tunnel. The only thing I had Harry add was a coffin box and trim tabs. When I get my motor mounted, I'll take it to get the poling platform and grab rail built. As I make progress, I'll post up pictures. Power will be a short shaft 30 E-tec tiller mounted on an Atlas Micro Jacker.

1989 Johnson 25hp tiller 15" shaft length. I received this in a package deal and don't need it. It will need a new prop or have the aluminum one repaired. The blades a bent a little. It is missing the pick up screens ($35.00 on boats.net for screws and screens) on the gearcase and the fuel pump has a small leak around the cover screw (think its stripped). I looks like the screw is stripped on the pump. It starts and runs good - shifts forward and reverse. Can send pics and check...

decided to start a new thread of my johnsen rebuild. bought it from another member and after finding some bad lumber decided to remove all decks and bulkheads and start fresh. spent a lot of time getting the decks smoothed down as well as getting the floors somewhat smooth.

For Sale is a 2015 1444 Salt Marsh Skiff w clean titles to boat, motor and trailer. Approx 20-30 hours on motor. This has been a great skiff for me and preforms very well given its small size. Top end is about 30mph w a light load and perfect conditions. 28mph by myself w fishing load in normal conditions. 25-24mph w a duck hunting load. Hey everyone, I am about to embark on the rebuild of an old johnsen skiff and plan to use honeycomb board in the link below for the core material of the decks. for now I am trying to figure out if id be better off using 1/2" or 3/4" for the decks and bulkheads. Id like to keep bracing in the form of bulkheads to a minimum to optimize space and planned on using 3/4" because of this but wonder if 1/2" would be enough. Also ive seen some people claim that a single layer of 1708 on each side is...
