Any of you local guys been chasing carp on Conroe with the fly rods? I have a couple of specific spots on the lake in mind, but I haven’t been on the lake in years. Thinking about trying it out on a Monday or Tuesday in the next couple of weeks and wondering if anyone else is interested.

HB Eldora, HB Whipray, Drake Outlaw, New Water Willet - Feedback
Anyone have comparison feedback on these four skiffs? They are all seeming super capable for the purist who loves an ultra skinny, ultra utilitarian skiff. Things I’m curious to know:
- How does Eldora compare to the original Whipray? I noticed on HB website it says the current Whipray has same draft as they advertise for Eldora, but the Eldora supposedly weighs a couple hundred lbs less. Something doesn’t line up for me...how does Eldora compare to original Whipray since the original...

2018 Glasser Wrightwater 12
2018 Glasser Wrightwater 12, motor is 2003 Mercury 15HP 2 stroke, trailer 2008 EZ Loader. This is the #1 Hull for the Glasser Wrightwater 12, made in Rockledge, FL. Runs great, is quick, handles chop, very dry boat especially for its size. Push pole not great, but works. Have a stern mount trolling motor to go with it, just not on the boat at the moment. Stick it anchor. Brand new carb on the motor. I am just not using it as much as I thought and it's taking up space in my garage. $5,500...

NOOB Skiff Recommendations
Howdy all.
My fishing experience- former professional bass fisherman and guide.
Fished/guided northern Galveston Bay for Reds and Specks for a couple of years when a sponsor gave me their new 20 Center Bay Boat to showcase. That's the extent of my flats fishing experience.
Currently live in Alaska and chase monster rainbows (and salmon, char, grayling) with a fly in the summer.
Planning on buying a place in the Keys (Marathon perhaps) and want to get a skiff to chase the usual suspects...

Rear ended!
Well.... got hit today sitting at a red light.
Details:
Wasn’t a hard hit but I did feel it a little.
She hit my prop.
I had my motor on the trailering bracket(?) and not down.
No visible damage to anything of mine (her bumper, plastic, had a slight dent)
Prop spins free. Engages in forward/neutral/reverse without and added pressure or excessive noises.
This was done at the house while running on a hose.
My question is with everything looking to be ok should I be overly concerned?

2015 Minirip with 2018 20 HP Tohatsu
Many extras including DF, Bilge Pump, I-Pilot, galvanized trailer. Motor has less than 30 Hours on it. Not as steady on my feet anymore. I need something a little larger.

Since the thread "What's everyone catching?" is all the way over on the Fishing Reports forum, I thought it would be convenient for us fly fishermen/fisherpersons to have a running thread here on the Fly Fishing Forum on fish caught on fly only to see what everyone is catching lately.
Note: Ideal pic size for fast internet opening, especially on cell phones is 800-1024 dpi length. A little bigger wouldn't hurt tho. So resize them when possible.

Fly fishers in N Georgia
I dont know of a fly fish club in Atlanta. But I'm sure there is. I see on this site where all y'all in Florida have gatherings of like skiffs on the water somewhere on the coast.
Where this is going is my boat has been sitting for a year. My son in law bought a big offshore boat that has kept me from taking my boat to NC. I dont mind fishing alone, grass carp, but I want to use my boat.
I thought about a fly only carp tournament on one of our many big lakes
I mostly like fly fishing in...
