Skiff Camping Tent?
I’m looking for a well-made tent for skiff camping ENP(chickees and beach), 10K Islands, FL Keys, etc.
Those of you that have done this.....can you recommend a quality tent. I don’t mind spending the cheese for quality. As you know the tent must have the following qualities:
- no-see-um mesh on windows and doors
- ventilation
- waterproof/weatherproof
- relatively lightweight and compact
....and most importantly...
- must stand up to strong winds

Anyways this band is the 100 Watt Vipers. Hard core rockin blues. Totally sweet too. Great fly tying music for sure. From Jacksonville FL. Feel free to post up maybe we can build up a real resource.

WTB Top mount poling platform
Looking for a top (gunnel) mount poling platform to replace my transom mount platform with. Let me know if anyone's got one laying around in the central FL area (Tampa/Orlando/Ft Myers/possible East Coast).
Legs need to be at least about 44" wide. I can get one made for $600 but figured I would check on here on the off chance I could pick up a used one for less.

HB Eldora, HB Whipray, Drake Outlaw, New Water Willet - Feedback
Anyone have comparison feedback on these four skiffs? They are all seeming super capable for the purist who loves an ultra skinny, ultra utilitarian skiff. Things I’m curious to know:
- How does Eldora compare to the original Whipray? I noticed on HB website it says the current Whipray has same draft as they advertise for Eldora, but the Eldora supposedly weighs a couple hundred lbs less. Something doesn’t line up for me...how does Eldora compare to original Whipray since the original...

1987 15' HOBIE Power Skiff Mini-Project.
This is an ‘original’ 1987 HOBIE Power Skiff. Slight damage to part of the Starboard CAP RAIL has been repaired (see last photo showing a 5 inch area), but final fairing and the included matching gelcoat has not yet been applied. The supplied gelcoat is a perfect match. That is to say, nothing horrible has been covered up. The affected part of the Cap Rail is less than six feet long. It was dinged-up by virtue of it becoming stuck under a dock during a rising tide when the SS Railings were...

CUBA 2019
I got the opportunity to fish Cuba, Jardines de la Reina. Let's just say it was plain silly. I landed my first tarpon, bonefish, red snapper, barracuda, and got some serious shots on a permit.
6 Days of Fishing, I believe we jumped 70 tarpon, landed 45. A 30+ bonefish, and 3 Red Snapper that we invited back to the boat for dinner. I will add pictures as I get time! Here's the first batch!

Suggestions for custom poling platform?
Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for custom made poling platforms in the central FL area -- for a reasonable price. I know welding (especially aluminum) is a highly regarded skill but I think what some of these guys are charging is a little over the top. I spoke with the guy at Skimmer Skiffs and he makes them for $600, which I think is relatively reasonable. Thanks in advance.

Redfish decline in Southwest Florida
I was wondering if any other anglers have noticed this I am not talking about after the red tide kill I mean just in general. Do you think it's the tournaments or the pressure of too many anglers can't remember the last time I i have seen multiple reds while poling snook is a different story they seem to be thriving I have lived here my whole life and I get the fishing isn't a fraction of what it use to be what say you people.

Engine: 2001 Yamaha 50hp 4 stroke, don't know hours, came from my father-in-law who owns New Hampshire Mobile Marine. Came off a pontoon boat that lived on Squam Lake in NH so was only used a couple times a year. I've had it and put around 50hrs a year on it since 2015. It gets serviced yearly and had the carbs rebuilt last summer. RUNS GREAT! Max speed is 30mph with two people and full 65qt cooler.
